No other supersport can claim the Superbike World Championship like the Ninja ZX-10R can. The Ninja ZX-10R propelled Kawasaki rider, Tom Sykes, to overall championship podium finishes every year since 2012—securing a championship title in 2013—and delivered the championship title once again for 2015, this time with Jonathan Rea aboard.

With the Ninja ZX-10R, development starts at the track. This is why only pure riding essentials make the cut. Down to the finest details, everything that goes into the Ninja ZX-10R has the sole purpose of making it the fastest bike on the track.

And as a direct recipient of what the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) learns, the Ninja ZX-10R is equipped with championship-proven technology that makes it fully capable of dominating the streets too.


  • NEW CHASSIS: Revised geometry for increased feel, feedback and flickability. New frame and swingarm means improved feel for sharper handling and increased cornering speed. Reversible offset collars (race kit parts) allow steering stem and swingarm pivot positions to be adjusted to best suit track conditions and riding style.
  • NEW BRAKES: New for 2016, the front brembo brakes feature a pair of massive 330mm semi-floating discs that deliver supers braking force and brake feel. The rotors have a grooved outer edge for greater heat dissipation. The bike also received dual radial mount Brembo M50 cast aluminum monobolic calipers, Brembo's highest grade mass production brake system. The Brembo radial-pump master cylinder and reservoir are calibrated to require very little lever movement to achieve strong front brake force. Stainless steel braided brake lines contribute to a more direct feel.
  • NEW SUSPENSION: Showa's advanced 43mm Balance Free Forks (BFF) brings state of the art WSBK racing technology to a mass production supersport motorcycle for the first time and is available only on the Ninja ZX-10R. The benefits include increased ride comfort, improved braking balance, increased front-end feel and independently adjustable compression and rebound damping. Horizontal black link rear suspension featuring the compact and lightweight Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) shock.
  • NEW STYLING: New upper cowl reduces drag and provides increased wind diflection so that the racer can change position more smoothly at track speeds. Strategically placed vents in the upper cowl helps prevent negative pressure build up in the cockpit to reduce helmet buffeting. New front fender helps direct airflow to the radiator for improved engine cooling.


  • TITANIUM ALLOY EXHAUST SYSTEM: Superior heat resistance, lighter weight and lower center of gravity for improved handling and mass centralization.
  • LARGER AIRBOX: New 10-liter airbox is 25 percent larger to improve engine response and increase low-mid range power.
  • LARGER AIR FILTER: New air filter has 1.6 times more surface area and air resistance is reduced 40 percent to contribute to improved engine performance.
  • ELECTRONIC THROTTLE VALVES AND ECU: New 47 mm electronic throttle valves and 32-bit ECU operate with greater precision to provide smoother engine response on the track.
  • ENGINE: Internal Engine updates focused on producing more peak power and delivering stronger low-mid range for quicker acceleration - Cylinder head and cylinders, exhaust valves, cam profiles, combustion chamber, pistons, crankshaft gear ratios, cooling system.

Technology - Handling

  • SPORT KAWASAKI TRACTION CONTROL: Hybrid predictive/feedback-type evolution of the highly sophisticated traction control system helps racers push harder by maximizing acceleration. 5 modes enable a greater range of feeling for specific track conditions and riding preferences.
  • KAWASAKI INTELLIGENT ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM: Kawasaki’s supersport-grade high-precision multi-sensing brake ABS brake assistance system. Uses high-precision control to modulate brake pressure during sport riding.
  • ELECTRONIC STEERING DAMPER: Specially developed Öhlins® electronic steering damper provides just the right amount of damping based on vehicle speed and degree of acceleration or deceleration.

Technology - Power

  • INERTIA MEASUREMENT UNIT: Compact IMU measures inertia along 6 axes (5 measured + 1 calculated). Combined with Kawasaki’s proprietary dynamic modeling software, input from the IMU enables even more precise chassis orientation awareness. Key to bringing Kawasaki’s electronics to the next level.
  • KAWASAKI LAUNCH CONTROL MODE: 3-mode system designed to help racers optimize acceleration from a launch. Manages engine output to prevent wheelspin and minimize front end lift.
  • KAWASAKI ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL: This system allows riders to set engine braking according to preference.
  • KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER: Facilitates acceleration by enabling the rider to upshift gears with the throttle wide open without using the clutch while out on the track.
  • POWER MODES: Riders can set power delivery to suit conditions and/or preference.
